Ojo Conejo is a Local Hero

We are so honored to be chosen by our community for the 2024 Local Hero Award as a farm in the greater New Mexico area! We are humbled and in awe that in our second year of farming, we are producing food for nearly 25 families every week including A2A2 Raw Milk, eggs, pork products, cheese, yogurt and ice cream. Really, all the credit goes to our cow, Rose.
She is The Star of it all.

Lone Piñon is a New Mexican string band, or “orquesta típica”, whose music celebrates the integrity and diversity of their region's cultural roots. With fiddles, upright bass, guitars, accordions, vihuela, and bilingual vocals, they play a wide spectrum of the traditional music that is at home in New Mexico.

What Will OJO CONEJO Do With The Funds Raised?

We have big plans for 2025 and we need your help and support.
OJO CONEJO is quickly becoming one of the most popular sources for raw, A2A2 organic dairy in the state of New Mexico. Our herd of cows is growing and that means we need more infrastructure and land. In 2025, we hope to acquire more grazing land for our herd and to get our milk out to organizations that support indigenous populations of New Mexico as well as mothers and young families. We will also be launching education programs teaching and guiding young farmers in the cultivation of caring for cows and land so that the art of raising cows regeneratively continues on.

Part of our mission at OJO CONEJO is to offer classes and workshops that center around ancient animal husbandry and regenerative farming practices. In 2025, we will be offering both a Chicken Culling Workshop as well as a Traditional Northern New Mexican Matanza Workshop where our pigs will be thoughtfully processed and shared with our community.

How To Prepare for The Dinner

Get dressed up, have fun with it. It is so rare that we get to put on our fancy clothes here on the farm and we are looking forward to it!

We want to hear from YOU. There will be time during the dinner for you to share your dreams and visions for our farm. What do you want out of a farm? How can our farm serve the community? Not everyone has the energy or resources to farm. We believe that farming belongs to the people first and foremost and that is why we want to make space for your voice to be heard.
