Become Part of Our Farm Team

We are in search of the right couple to add to our Ojo Conejo Farm Team!
We are looking for two people who are eager to learn how to help run and operate a small dairy here in Northern New Mexico.
Each week, we offer our local community incredible raw dairy products - from raw milk to Keifer to ice cream and even eggnog.
We want to continue expanding our growing dairy and need help!

The Job Looks Like This…

  • Morning milking of our two dairy cows, mucking of stalls and feeding our small herd. We use a machine to milk our cows which makes milking much easier and faster!

  • If you do not have experiences milking cows, this is all good. We are willing to teach people how to milk dairy cows and are eager to pass on the knowledge of how to milk cows.

  • Afternoon mucking of cow stalls and feeding of our small herd.

  • Help in distributing products to Santa Fe and surrounding areas.

  • We imagine that the total time needed of work each day on our farm would be around 2 - 2 1/2 hours. This would leave you plenty of time for other work and activities.

Work Trade Arrangement

We are seeking a couple who is looking for a place to live in exchange for their help on our farm.
We have a beautifully remodeled casita on our property to offer to the right couple complete with a kitchen, bathroom, private work space and private parking.

Work Trade Specifications

  • Couple needs to have a reliable, 4-wheel drive vehicle that is good in the snow

  • The casita does have a shower (although not pictured) and reliable, high speed internet

  • The heat in the casita is a wood stove and all the wood is provided

  • We do not allow pets at this time

  • We also cannot accept couples with children at this time

  • We do not allow smoking, vaping or drugs of any kind on the property

  • There are hiking trails behind the casita as well as all over the area we live in

  • We are looking to begin with a 1-month trial period and then willing to extend the arrangement to 6 months if all goes well.

  • Position is open January 1, 2025

  • Experience on a farm is not necessary - only the willingness to be consistent, reliable and to learn

  • We will need two references from you (one personal and one professional)

  • Cell phone service is spotty out here so we provide a landline in the casita

  • The casita has a queen bed and is roughly 600 square feet

About the Area

Welcome to the High Road to Taos - one of the most scenic highways in North America. Our village of Ojo Sarco (population 400) is located just off the High Road to Taos amidst artists, weavers, potters, writers, farmers, healers and people who are living deeply creative lives.

Ojo Conejo is located between Taos and Santa Fe (about 50 minutes from each city) - giving you the opportunity to explore both locations. We also live 20 minutes from Dixon, NM which has a lovely, organic food coop and winery. Hot springs can be found in all directions as well as some of the best hiking trails in New Mexico.
