To Start Off Our Evening of Storytelling…
Elizabeth Fagan will lead us into the evening with songs about home, place and belonging - helping to create a rich and robust container of storytelling.
Musical Guest and Guide for the Evening
Elizabeth Fagan is the force behind Lili St Anne, a Santa Fe art-folk odyssey where raw emotion collides with spectral soundscapes. Her music isn’t just heard—it’s felt. It drifts between the delicate and the defiant, threading folk roots with the wild spark of psychedelia.
Listeners have called her voice moonglow and thunder, a secret sauce that stirs something primal. Her songs have become ritual—woven deep into love, loss, and the ghosts we carry. Elizabeth’s live performances unravel something deep—audiences leave her shows stirred, weightless, and changed. She doesn’t just sing—she channels, with melodies that recall Fiona Apple, Tori Amos, and PJ Harvey. She shows people something deep in herself—and in doing so, makes them feel alive.
Guidelines For Storytelling
This is more than a dinner - it’s an opportunity to develop deeper connections and conversations with people in our community. We will create a safe space to be heard, to be seen and to witness one another while eating delicious food.
In our first Tongue + Table event, our storytelling theme will be centered around home, land, place and belonging.
Prepare your story about one of these themes by writing it down or speaking it out loud.
Practice with others, in front of the mirror, in front of your dog.
This is not about giving a good performance, but about creating a story that is enjoyable to tell and to listen to.
Each story needs to be kept at five minutes or less.
You do not need to have any past experience telling stories or preforming.
We are all storytellers. We are all orators. We just need to find the right able to sit at.
Amidst our stories, we will find friends, build community and hear stories that serve as a kind of healing balm to our own questions and challenges.
